Do You Have Ways To Make Me Feel More Comfortable?
Because we know that dental anxiety is a real problem, we have taken steps to make sure you can feel relaxed from when you first step into our offices, whether you go to Bridgeport/Trumbull Line dental office or Shelton dental office. At both locations, you will find water, coffee, and tea so you can have a nice drink while you wait. We also offer music and television so you can further unwind.
What Kinds Of Sedation Dentistry Do You Offer?
At DeJesus Dental Group, we can offer two types of sedation to help you work through any concerns you have about your dental treatment.
- Laughing gas (nitrous oxide) is a time-tested choice that is used in dental offices across the country. A small mask is placed over your nose, and you breathe in a mixture of this gas and regular air. It quickly brings on a feeling of mild euphoria, removing anxiety quickly.
- Oral sedation is the use of medicine to remove your fears. This pill must be taken about one hour before your appointment, which means you will not be able to drive here. Also, the effects last for a somewhat different time for each patient, so you will not be able to drive yourself home, either.
What Is Conscious Sedation?
Some people think of sedation as a way to put you to sleep. While that’s certainly one way to get past anxiety, it’s often a poor choice. First, such a deep level of sedation carries risks that you don’t need to face. And second, there are times when we need to talk to you during a dental treatment.
That’s what conscious sedation is used for. It will take away your fears, worries, and anxiety quickly so you can relax during your treatment. However, you can still communicate to us how things are going, so we can make any necessary adjustments immediately. Both laughing gas and oral sedation are types of conscious sedation.
How Will I Be Treated At Your Offices?
Sometimes, the source of the dental anxiety isn’t worrying about discomfort or specific treatments. It’s in how you will be treated at our dental offices. While some dentists’ offices might see you as a regrettable way to get to your money and insurance, we take pride in wanting to treat you like a member of our family. After all, we are part of this community, too! All of our staff, including our dentists, know how to use people skills and how to treat you right.
With our excellent staff, great office, and sedation options, we can help you get past any dental anxiety so you can get the dental care you need.
